Gwangalli Drone Light Show

Every Saturday night, 1,100 drones rise above Busan's dark sea and turn the sky over Gwangalli Beach into a giant moving picture. The Gwangalli M Drone Light Show is Korea's first regularly-running drone light show, staged in front of Gwangan Bridge — no ticket, no reservation, just show up on the sand and watch.

The show runs twice each Saturday evening: 8pm and 10pm from March through September, and 7pm and 9pm from October through February. Each performance lasts about 12 minutes. A typical night uses around 1,100 drones, expanding to as many as 3,000 for special occasions like Chuseok, Lunar New Year, and the New Year's Eve countdown.

The best viewing spot is the sand directly in front of the Suyeong-gu Sports Plaza, where the drone graphics face you head-on without distortion. You can technically watch from anywhere on the beach, but this stretch fills up fast — arrive at least 30 minutes early if you want a good spot.

By subway, take Busan Metro Line 2 to Gwangan Station (exits 3 or 5) or Geumnyeonsan Station (exit 1); either one is about a 10–12 minute walk to the beach.

The show can be delayed or cancelled in rain, strong wind, typhoons, or if there's a drone communications issue, so it's worth checking the weather before you head out.
